I’m suspicious of peas that green, they’ve got to be a bit insipid to convince me they’re real
Potatoes are South American
British cuisine I would argue is actually the best; you’re just all used to seeing the same brown/beige stuff whereas in reality, when it comes to gourmet pubs etc, we have some of the best variety of produce.
Obviously our meat is the best quality undoubtedly, but also our actual grown produce is just as high quality and yes you do have to naturally spend dearer prices for this level but the same usually goes for any case.
For one of my birthdays I got a £100 voucher for this small friary-turned-restaurant in Newcastle and went with my then-girlfriend and, considering each course came with a wine pairing, I’d honestly say that with the quality of food, as I’ve just described, it was all more than worth what ended up being around £120
But yes all these typical brown/beige foods do get boring rather quickly
sometimes it’s nice to taste the actual food itself
