North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen firing drills by artillery units in the western region involving “super-large” multiple rocket launchers, state-run broadcaster KRT reported on Tuesday (March 19).

The North’s official news agency KCNA also released still photographs of Kim watching the drills and said they were conducted on Monday (March 18) and were aimed at testing the “real war capabilities” of 600 millimetre multiple rocket launchers and improving the operators’ combat morale and readiness posture.

The report of drills came a day after South Korea and Japan reported North Korea’s launch of several short-range ballistic missiles into the sea, its first such missile test in about two months.

Kim called for modernising and scaling up artillery forces, highlighting the rocket launchers’ “strategic duties as the core central striking means” in war preparations. Pyongyang has broken with decades of its inter-Korean policy, scrapping a military pact and declaring the South a hostile enemy state.

  18. The only reason I can think of why any other country would want to attack North Korea is because they have nuclear weapons and are threatening to use them. Even when other countries had nukes and NK didn't, nobody attacked them Why would anyone want to?

  19. How can you trust Donald Trump's promises if he has already shown an inability to fulfill them? 

    For example, Donald Trump has talked so much about his ability to pacify Kim Jong-un, but Kim, as before, is working on his nuclear program and launching more and more powerful models of launch vehicles for his nuclear charges….

    How can you trust Trump, who publicly makes statements that actually violate the requirements of the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of nuclear weapons, in terms of protecting nuclear-weapon-free countries in the event of a threat to them from another nuclear country???

    I'm hinting at Ukraine, which the United States forced to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for virtually worthless "guarantees", which were also fixed in the Budapest Memorandum…

    If you do not want to fulfill the requirements of this agreement, then you just need to get out of it!

    If you do not want to provide guarantees to nuclear-weapon-free countries, then withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of nuclear weapons!

    In addition, how can you trust Trump, a politician who has already declared his refusal to comply with the requirements of the fifth article of the NATO charter (on joint defense in the event of a Russian attack)???

    The United States is now a military and political impotent, unable to be a world policeman anymore, as it was during the time of the much-respected Ronald Reagan.

    It is absolutely clear that the United States is no longer a world leader, but a deceiver and a petty fool who thinks that his outspoken enemy in the person of Russia will pardon him.

  24. The strength and valor of North Korean people is remarkable, it having no foreign troops on it's soil is a testament to that. Hopefully South Korea will also one day free itself from the occupying US troops.
