France’s PM stands with teachers after school chief quits in hijab row • FRANCE 24 English

The French government takes a stand for teachers after a Paris School principal resigned in the face of online death threats on national TV Wednesday the Prime Minister said France will sue a teenage student who accused the principal of hitting her after she refused to remove her head

Scarf I’ve decided the state will file a complaint against this young woman for slanderous accusations the state will always stand with these officials those who are on the front line facing these attacks on secularism these attempts at islamist entry into our educational establishments on February 28th the principal told three female students

They should obey the law and remove their head coverings two complied but a third an adult in a vocational training class did not there are contradicting versions of what happened next the Headmaster caught her like this he shouted once twice she didn’t take it off did you see

It no but my friends told me in detail he caught hold of her and the girl didn’t like it the Headmaster didn’t hit a pupil he simply asked the student who was crossing the room to take off a headscarf France’s education Minister visited Lis Rael in early March to show

Her support for the Headmaster he was provided personal security still students were told Tuesday he chose to take early retirement for head teachers unions it’s a worrying incident it’s a situation that could happen to any of us because we make sure that the law and secularism is

Respected and we can end up faced with those who want to break this rule the student filed a legal complaint against the principal which was later dismissed now she is the one facing legal action

Prime Minister Gabriel Attal on Wednesday defended French secularism following the resignation of a Paris school principal who received death threats after asking a student to remove her Muslim veil on the premises. Attal, a former education minister, said the state would be filing a complaint against the student over falsely accusing the headmaster of mistreatment during the incident in late February.

  1. Hitting isn't the solution, the teacher must know… Also the Prime Minister, instead of suing students, get the matter investigated and then proceed instead of showcasing your hypocrisy and double standards to all… If it happened otherwise, you'd be crying misogyny and toxic masculinity by the male teacher…

  2. I think because of communal tensions like this based on Religions, 🇫🇷France has long been against supporting countries like 🇹🇷Türkiye joining the 🇪🇺EU.

  3. Secularism Must Not Contradict Freedom and Democracy!

But is the same Secular France, and other European countries, also not the self-proclaimed champions and advocates of Freedom and Democracy?

Why would you allow other students with all kinds of short and indecent clothings in the classroom, but disallow a female (Muslim) student who only wants to cover her body for the sake of decency and morality.

The principles of Secularism should and must not, in any way, be in violation and contradiction of the principles and fundamentals of Freedom and Democracy.

  4. It is two faced France. Two days ago they were blaming Afghanistan for barring girls from schools and now France is doing the same thing over religion. Come on! les fromages qui puent..

  5. Just follow the rules, France doesn't have Sharia. It's not an Arab country. Value their culture, independence, rules… If u think it's a lack of religious freedom them walk away from there… If a France girl with shorts walking on the streets of Saudi Arabia. You guys don't tolerate it…
