£7.25 was worth almost £10 in 2009 😭 So the butter is basically £10 ?!?

  1. Lurpak was always dear, but I used to think it worth it. Until covid, when the prices just went stratospheric.

I switched to ‘supermarket econo brands’ & tbh I can’t really tell the difference. I’m not really in the ‘foods that need a security tag’ market these days [unless it’s alcoholic, for which exceptions can be made 😉

  2. My dad buying his house for £10-20k in the 80s 🙂

Me buying a tub of Lurpak today: “I’ll never financially recover from this”

  3. Here in Canada we are boycotting a big grocery chain in order to change the high price of a food shop.

  4. Started making my own and its cheaper than lurpak but a bit more than the cheap stuff but it’s so much nicer than any other brand and you get to do cool things like make crispy chicken skin and chilli or bacon butter.

  5. 25 pence worth of butter, where does the other 7 quid of cost come from i wonder?
