Man wielding sword arrested after attack on members of public and officers says Met Police
a critical incident has been declared in
Northeast London and an MP for the area
uh has said uh that several people have
been stabbed around the tube station or
that’s amid reports of that this is what
we’ve seen from uh West streeting the MP
on Twitter he says a critical incident
has been declared in heinel uh there are
station and road closures in place the
police Ambulance Service and fire
brigade are responding one male has been
detained I would urge people not to
speculate until details are confirmed or
post footage on social media I’m in
contact with met police mayor of London
and Redbridge Council I’ll keep local
residents updated as and when I can
that’s the end of his tweet to be clear
his tweet says he urged residents not to
uh speculate and uh it was just general
reports that suggested um a stabbing but
that was a tweet uh from West streeting

A critical incident has been declared near a tube station in northeast London after reports a man wielding a sword attacked members of the public and police officers.
The man, alleged to have been carrying a sword, crashed a vehicle into a house in Thurlow Gardens, before reportedly stabbing a number of people, police said.
