have you ever heard people say that
eating white bread is bad for you well a
team of scientists are hoping to change
that but how do you get from this to
this well researchers at abist with uni
are looking at how they can boost the
nutritional value of white bread so that
could mean mixing UK saued peas beans
and oats with wheat flour to make it
healthier my children like white bread
so if I could improve the nutrition of
that white bread for my children I think
that would be a really good a really
good thing the NHS says that people
should look for high fiber alternatives
to white bread but this could be the
answer consumers are looking for we’re
we’re aiming to um improve the quality
of that standard bog standard white
sliced bread so we’re trying to improve
the nutrition but retain those
characteristics that people want and
after the 2-year project is over
scientists are hoping that healthier
white loaves will be hitting UK shelves
and landing on our plates

Researchers at Aberystwyth University are working on boosting the nutritional profile of white bread by blending flour with foods like peas or oats.
