Moment Palestinian flag is pulled from flagpole and thrown to ground

A police chief has said an officer who threw a Palestinian flag to the ground in footage circulating on social media was not part of the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Kaz Daughtry, the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations, wrote in a post on Twitter that while his officers did remove the flag erected at City College of New York #campus, they were not responsible for it then being thrown to the ground.

Mr Daughtry said the Palestinian flag had been hoisted onto a pole in place of the Stars and Stripes, adding that his officers saw “many American flags torn, burned and desecrated”.

Footage shared by the deputy commissioner appears to show an individual wearing a protective vest labelled “police” taking the Palestinian flag after it has been removed from the pole and throwing it to the ground.

Mr Daughtry said that this person “was a member of that university, and not a member of the NYPD”.

He added: “The NYPD will continue to support the right for everyone to protest, peacefully and lawfully.”

  1. The protesters and rioters, just like Palestinians themselves, aren’t smart enough and are doing it all wrong for so so long.
I mean, 80 years of the same bs and Israel is a nuclear power and is not going anywhere.
Peace should be the next plan.
These protests are bringing more hate than support to your cause.

  2. I see why a man that failed to get into art school did what he did the entitlement these people have and cry anti semitism for everything 😂

  3. Every time we see a Israelí flag should we do the same , or even ban one of our US senators for dressing in a IDF outfit with IDF patches on , or we are going to turn our blind eye right 😬
