King Charles Becomes Royal British Legion Patron Following Review

[Music] what [Music] Patron the king will help us to shine a light on the service of those who are currently in the armed forces but also those that have served in the past he has always supported the RO British Legion in terms of the welfare work that we do providing support and financial assistance to those in the armed forces Community but importantly he also leads the country in remembrance whether that is at the remembrance uh events at the Senate half on Remembrance Sunday or whether that’s attending the Royal British Legions Festival of remembrance it’s really important that those that have served are never forgotten and the King will lead that on behalf of the nation [Music] so there still

King Charles has become patron of the Royal British Legion, the UK’s leading armed forces charity. It follows a major review of royal patronages, the first of its kind since Queen Elizabeth II’s death in 2022. More than 1,000 patronages were earmarked for review, and the full results will be revealed in the coming week. The Royal British Legion are thrilled to welcome the King. The King takes over from the late Queen Elizabeth II, who was the previous patron of the RBL. The review also concluded that King Charles will remain patron of the Samaritans, while Queen Camilla will succeed Queen Elizabeth as president of the Sandringham branch of the Women’s Institute.
