Ukraine to use UK weapons to target Putin | Kira Rudik

the only way to stop Russia is to fight them with all the means that we have and then they will not be able to threat the world so you know Callum we are very open with how we are using the weapons and that we are operating according to the rules and that we are using them effective and efficient and we are targeting only the military targets to stop Russia basically to prevent them of killing us which is very obvious and which is very fair so I think first of all uh I want to share the gratefulness on behalf of Ukrainian people uh for the support that Mr Cameron uh confirmed for us but also for giving us an ability to survive to defend ourselves Russia has accused Lord Cameron of a direct escalation after the foreign secretary said Ukraine can use British weapons to strike targets inside Russia let’s speak to Ukrainian MP and leader of the hallos party Kira rodic Kira good morning morning good morning halum thank you so much for having me it’s very good to speak to you Kira do you think there is actually an undoubted uh claim here that this is something of an escalation if British weapons are used to strike targets inside Russia that almost by definition would be escalation surely I think uh it has been Russia’s uh propaganda part since the beginning of the fulls scale Invasion don’t do this don’t do that because we will consider that an escalation and then what and we in Ukraine we already suffer all the things that Russia can throw our way we are already under the attacks every single day and actually every single night people are getting killed at the front people are getting killed in their homes so like what are they threatening to do because they were trying to block the Western allies of sending us weapons by exactly this threat saying oh you will escalate but what we have seen is that the only way to stop Russia is to fight them with all the means that we have and then they will not be able to threat the world so you know Callum we are very open with how we are using the weapons and that we are operating according to the rules and that we are using them effective and efficient and we are targeting only the military targets to stop Russia basically to prevent them of killing us which is very obvious and which is very fair so I think first of all uh I want to share the gratefulness on behalf of Ukrainian people uh for their support that Mr Cameron uh confirmed for us but also for giving us an ability to survive to defend ourselves and in terms of the promises of weapons both from the UK and indeed notably from President Biden in the US which last weekend I think we we remember reporting that he said that helped the weapons the ammunition Etc would would be on the front line within a matter of hours if not days um excuse me days if not hours does that seem like the reality has has there been an immediate impact of these announcements um it’s uh very hard to confirm right now um the speed of the delivery however what we have seen before is that between a political statement and a moment when Ukrainian Soldier has weapons in his or her hands uh it could be months and sometimes like up to half of a year so no matter that there is a significant speed up in the logistics we also understand that uh there were seven months lost in this Congress vote and uh it’s it would be very hard to compensate for this lost time uh and we really hope that our allies are working with us on improving the logistics and the delivery times of those weapons what then uh would be the sort of tipping or when would the T ideal Tipping Point I suppose be I I’m just trying to understand KIRO what the current situation really is on on the front lines how these weapons can make a difference and whether this could be the year of a real breakthrough and indeed victory for Ukraine so it will depend on couple of uh aspects the first one is not only the United States and United Kingdoms uh weapons delivery but also from other of our lives and when we are talking about weapons it’s mainly ammunition that we need badly and Russia is manufacturing very quickly second is air defense systems because it has been a main issue since the day one and the third point is the fighter jets uh something that could really make a difference and we have received many promises and many of those promises are in works so if we get all the political agreements promises delivered quickly then we can talk about uh having the Breakthrough at the front I think H there has not been a question of how brilliant our military commanders are being able to stop Russia and to fight it back with the limited resources that we have however we cannot be fighting the enemy empty-handed so the main question Still Remains when and uh in which amounts we will get the promised weaponry and ammunition Kira it’s always really good to speak to you thank you very much thank you and glory to Ukraine that’s kirat rodic Ukrainian MP and leader of the hallos party hi hello hi how you doing how’s your trip been is based in fact you have majority in par like just like went against him right and campaign to leave um kind of ironic to have The Accidental creator of well the UK is once again absolutely leading the way in how we support Ukraine the announcement by the Prime Minister that we will give 3 billion pounds every year for as long as is necessary and we’ve just really uh emptied all we can in terms of gifting equipment and the biggest amount of equipment we’ve we’ve we’ve been able to give so far and some of that is arriving today how to use these weapons they’re defending their country they were in terms of what the ukrainians do in our view it is their decision about how to use these weapons they’re defending their country they were illegally invaded by Putin and they must take those steps we don’t discuss any um caveats that we put on on those things but let’s be absolutely clear Russia has launched an attack into Ukraine and Ukraine absolutely has the right to strike back at Russia including inside Russia well it’s that’s a decision for Ukraine and Ukraine has that right just as Russia is striking inside Ukraine um you can quite understand why uh Ukraine uh feels the need to make sure it’s defending itself it’s getting the Russians out of its country and it has the ability to strike back’s preparing a Global Peace Summit in June in Switzerland is the UK well first of all we should celebrate the success of Congress releasing that 60 billion funding package for Ukraine it’s absolutely crucial not just in terms of the weapons that will bring but also the Boost to morale that it will bring to people here in Ukraine knowing that uh the United States is right behind them and backing them militarily economically diplomatically just as we are in the United Kingdom look in terms of the future of us politics it’s not for us to decide who the Americans choose as their President we will work with whoever that is to see you only one day to go and you can bre right two two days will be on Saturday night it was completely destroyed by bueri raised to the ground I think Independence there was a big public movement and fundraising we know here I think Stenberg is [Music]

  1. Ukraine is following rules of war. Criminal Russia is unrestrained to commit every form of war crimes to win. Can't let criminals win! Like France's Macron said, NATO countries must be ready to send troops to fight, if Ukraine requests it.

  2. Then Russia should have the right to strike at countries that supply weapons that are used to strike its country, hypocrite. If Russia had sided with the Taliban against the UK in Afghanistan Cameron would have been outraged, at some point the UK will suffer from this asinine decision.

  3. Is that display of old, outdated armour & a couple of cars, the best the Ukrainian's could do. Embarrassing.
Meanwhile in Moscow, the Russians display their spoils of war, some of the best military equipment NATO has to offer.

  4. All russia does is threaten to nuke nuke nuke the world. This is constant and unrelenting escalation on the part of putin. All russia does is escalate. Every accusation from russia is a confession. Putin’s transparency is obvious. The only people who can’t see this are morbidly brainwashed. Admittedly, ru propaganda is effective in fooling many. Not Ukraine.
    Go Kira!🇺🇦❤🇺🇸🇬🇪

  5. Europeeans people have ENOUGH of this rottened Us vs Russia eoconilcql and finianciak conflict,.. Ukraine is loosing clearly, and the Usa and Nato appaling war mongers leaders must stop rejecting any attempt of Peace treaty. Before ukraine have no men anymore…

  6. Not a good idea …. Ukrainian government needs to start peace talks with Russia..if uk weapons strike Moscow…the uk will have them returned 10 fold ..zelensky has destroyed Ukraine

  7. What a mess.
I believe the US has a lot to answer for, Yet as it is war between Ukraine and Russia, Despite my distain for this war Ukraine must decide what to do.
The UK has done nothing to aid any peace negotiations in this conflict between the West and Russia including reneged on the Mince agreements in 2014.

  8. It has now become crystal clear that without a clear strategic objective no matter how much money and weapons you throw at this problem there will be no successful outcome for Ukraine. They are certainly not going to lose any time soon but because of this lack of a cohesive objective to drive Russian forces back to their borders and hold them there, this war will drag on for years. People are seeing the provision of this latest US package as the end solution but all it does is buy time which will again be wasted by pontification and navel-gazing that is taking place inside Western governments The predictable result is the weapons supplied will soon be exhausted and the whole sorry farce beings again. Ukraine cannot be blamed for the actions it is currently taking using longer-range ATACMS to pick off strategic targets they could not hit before but the supply of those missiles is finite as is artillery ammunition. Effective use of which requires around 20 per 24-hour period to first suppress and then destroy enemy concentrations in forward moving rolling program meaning we are talking millions of 155mm shells of all types in a steady constant stream and not as we see today small packages of a few thousand here and there with everyone cheering that this will see to those Russians, it won't, they will simply die and be replaced by more conscripts and not more back an inch.
Time the West got off its knees and even if they didn't want to get in the fight directly open the taps and let Ukraine have what it really needed to get the job done and so formulate a strategic objective that would push Putin's forces out of Ukraine territory in disarray with the idea in their minds that trying this again is far too costly to even consider.

  9. What if Russia sells their hypersonic missiles Kinzal to Yemen? There is no way to stop those missiles for now. How would you react if Houthis will use that weapon against UK or US aircraft carriers?

  10. The only way to save what's left of Ukraine, saves lives on all sides is to commit to peace, agree not to join NATO and Russia withdraws. It's pretty simple and should have happened 2 years ago if it wasn't for the UK fighting this war
