Police dismantle tent city in Dublin
Irish police started dismantling about 200 tents housing asylum seekers in Dublin early on Wednesday, tackling what has become a focal point for heated debate around migration.

The government said police and other officials were removing people from tents that first appeared about a year ago on Mount Street in the centre of the capital and moving them into accommodation.

Sold out all tents, surprised
Giving my support from southern California. We have massive homeless encampment all over. Seem like the collective west is headed for a sharp decline.
I might pitch my tent in Mayfair.
Is this because they don't want people to know the extent of this problem.???
Isn't strange that after this was aired on UK t.v . suddenly the police turned up to remove the tent's that have been there for years.
And of course these happy campers have all arrived from the UK .and not from the European union. Because of Thier open boarders policy.
After all they insisted that they had no boarders on any part of Ireland. How's that working out for republic of Ireland..
Don't forget folks that the Irish will claim that France has nothing to do with the amount of migrants that may have travelled to Ireland from there…
Perhaps they think that they just beamd down from outer space. ???
Free the campers ! they were simply having a camping party ! such a shame, you don't encourage parties, and people having fun, and building communities
It’s as if the Irish aren’t aware that diversity is our greatest strength!?

Where have they gone been housed already
a year plus… the towns people and the city let this tent village grow for over a year… not sure if i'm impressed on the length of negligence on part of the govt or disappointed… what else is festering under the nose of the govt.
Out of the tents, into hotels – all paid for by the taxpayer. Thank you Irish government and their enforcers, formerly known as the Garda Siochana.
Seeking asylum is not a crime , it is when you enter a country illegally
There Goes the Neighbourhood !
I don’t remember it ever being legal and ok to camp out on public pavements. If people are breaking laws why shouldn’t they be moved on.
The spectacular failure of capitalism. Imagine if Ireland wasn't a hub of international money laundering.
Get em sorted folks and shifted it of there
Seeking asylum is not a crime.. Right, then why don't you seek in African countries.. Why Dublin? London?
I have no respect for students!
There is a very appropriate
saying going back a long
long time
"No use shutting the stable
door after the horse has
bolted"

Government facilitating people trafficking
Which NGO supplied all those tents?
Need to build more mosques.
I doubt all those Irish rebels who died in 1916 would have wanted this future.
They are just trespassers. Jail and deport!
Ireland needs to leave the EU and regain sovereignty….YESTERDAY!! ✌❤ set up council watches and look into the paris agreement
Yesterday, 700+ made the trip across the Channel. Imagine if the UK had better weather: 700+ would be making that trip every single day of the year! That’s well over 250,000 unregulated, undocumented people we know nothing about p/y. If you drop a drop of red dye into a bath full of water, it doesn’t show up. If you pour a bucket of red dye into the same bath it changes it instantly forever. There’s much to be said for gradualism.
Asylum from what? Theres no conflict in these peopls homes, they deliberately disgard papers to avoid deportion
Irish political class messed up big time here trying to please the WEF masters.
what`s more important is the Guardian having a comments section, everybody save this it`s as rare as rocking horse poo.
It is a crime when you enter illegally !
Very different to the UK they would have set up coffee points and free WiFi
Folding those tents are a pain.
The more migrants moving from UK to Ireland will strengthen the calls for reunification. If the British can’t control their borders in or out, the only way Ireland can control its borders is to have control of the whole island.
Might as well move the IP Office to Clare Island with 5G…
What is happening ? Where do these tents come from ? 😢😓
WHAT THEY ARE NOT IN HOTALS???? SHAME ON THE IRISH GOVERNMENT.
Owen jones and far left be bubbling like babies they want tent city’s and multi culture they just don’t want to deal with the issues that come from it
From what i hear in the u.k They've been moved to a hotel.
Welcome to treasure island, enjoy your free hotel accomodation
Lets hope they gave em somewhere else to sleep…its not like people love inherently sleeping in the gutter that were all scrambling for a spot.
These folks have few if any other plačeš to go, its not a choice to do so moreso circumstances that have forced it. As well we all know its at least better to be ina communal envoronment when things arent going well in life versus solo and alone, so one sees socioeconomically desperate people congregate.
All the best to getting things together and assistance for Ones future flourishing
Ireland's people just like the UK were never asked or consulted before these immigrants were brought in and that's disrespectful and illegal this issue should have been brought to the vote of the people before the governmens did anything
They ALL came through Europe first which are NOT war torn countries so why weren't they kept there because private companies owned by MPs and business men and women from abroad made HUGE personal profits going into their pockets rather than back into our countries financial pots lts all human trafficking in plain sight
dabbling in grugs,,thats why the government finaly acted
Our own homeless dieing on the streets and then they introduce.. please go to rwanda
Migrants are now polluting the Grand Canal with another Tent city development, will the Greens complain about the waste..?
Tents now moved from Mt. Street to Grand Canal 400 metres away. They are having boiled Duck for Sunday Dinner…
