Protests against “Russian law” continue in Tbilisi, spread to Georgia’s second-largest city

yeah the the the the protest tonight is less numerous than it was yesterday but it is still really Vivid very active and they Chang somehow their tactic so on the image that you can see now on the screen it shows that they’re trying to occupy some various places VAR spots in town which is quite uh uh important because it means that the it would be more difficult for the authorities to deal with them as for example they are blocking some roads and somehow it seems that the people in streets even and and and the car drivers are quite agreeing with them and and praising them for what what they did yesterday especially so we see that the the movement is spreading is going more rooted into the the society uh there were also some demonstration today in Batumi for example the second city in the country so we see that the the movement is more determined than than ever since 3 weeks and get some more support in the society what is going to happen next politically regie politically now uh the government um um uh has to wants to to to start the the the the thir reading of the and the last reading of uh the the the text of the law and of the bill uh it should start within 10 days and it seems uh that the government wants to to try to slow down the process expecting that maybe the movement would somehow be uh uh uh look weakened because of this of this especially because of this weekend is the Easter uh weekend so there will be less political activity it seems that the the crowd is not about to to to to stop its movement the determination is here as I said so quite quite a difficult situation uh we saw yesterday we heard the the the the very powerful um National Church Orthodox Church uh saying that they understand this young people while this church is supporting the draft the the the bill but somehow they say that this situation is quite difficult that they understand these young people who wants also to to to to help their country for their future and probably it was a sign already that this church understands uh that this that this movement won’t stop and it was probably a signal sent to the government that maybe it’s time to think about negotiating or having even an exit strategy is there a sense that the words of the United Nations are being heard in the UN saying this bill should be scrapped I think they were not heard by the government because the government is only listen to Moscow at the time they don’t say this officially but this is obvious when we Le we read the the situation but uh so I don’t think that the what was said today by the UN and what will be said by Europe or by the big big big big countries the Western countries would would affect much the country at the time especially after the speech of the strong man of of Georgia the oligarch B last Monday was for the first time extremely CR critical towards the west and the International Community re in thank you very much indeed we’re watching for all developments reg’s to on the ground there for us next the US is accusing

UN rights chief Volker Turk on Thursday called on Georgia’s government to withdraw a controversial “foreign influence” bill going through parliament and expressed concern at police violence against protesters. The demonstrations in Tbilisi continue and have spread to Batumi, Georgia’s second-largest city. Regis Gente reports from Tbilisi.

  1. And now you with the protesters right and against police brutally against them.. Since it maks Russia looks bad BUT same thing happening in the USA right now and the police have all the right to be brutal… What a lesson in double standards

  2. Western countries want to have the right to interfare any where they want but they don't allow such things in their own countries 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  3. Georgian government and ruling party Georgian Dream (what a joke name for a party of Putin's oligarch Ivanishvili) violated article 78 of Constitution of Georgia which stated the historical strive of Georgians to join European community. And now they need that Foreign Agent law as a tool to suppress civil organizations, free media, free will of people, same way as it happened in Russia. But Ivanishvili is making one huge mistake – he who was fledged in Russia is absolutely ignorant of the fact that Georgian youth is well-educated, well-spoken, independent, responsible, strategic-wise, free of fear and full of sense of freedom, and it's simply Gen Z.

  4. Georgia police should act like how police in bastion of democracy (USA) act. Let counter (possibly paid) protesters harass and attacked the original protesters. Captures all of them based by citing law. Lastly Georgia police condemn violent demonstration.

  5. no fogetting the similar maiden issue in 2014 in ukraine, manipulated by these forein NGOs from the USA, as a result leading the country to war and beome a failed country.

stay neutral and not become the puppy of the USA manipulated by NGOs and CIA may be a good position for small country..
