Russia hadn't touched these villages in these years but after the US funds and new weapons support from the West then they used Kharkiv as the position to attack inside Russia, and what did they expect? Buffer-Zone has to be made.. it's a stupidity to send attack inside Russia when Ukraine even not ready for such counter.
