UK PM Rishi Sunak has called a general election for 4 July – BBC

earlier today I spoke with his majesty the king to request the dissolution of parliament the King has granted this request and we will have a general election on the 4th of July

  1. The dissolution of parliament would have been a good idea if it wasn't going to result in the genius British voters putting in an even worse government than they already have. Which they are guaranteed to do!

  2. A realistic choice of just two when the lot are best fit for the dog waste bin leaves precious little to celebrate. With British Politics there is no quality control. My polling card will subsequently be going in the shredder.

  3. He talks as if he was gloriously elected in and he's doing us all a favour. What I don't get is why was it upto him in the first place how does it make sense that the criminal gets to use an out of jail card whenever he wants??

  4. At least we get the chance now to vote him out, after he Weasled his way in. What are the odds of him leaving the country and going to live on his American Estate about 5 mins after he loses the election ?

  6. So the PM if the UK reqested to dissolve parliament in the 4th of July out of all dates they really chose to do it on the same day as when they got their first major colonial defeat in 1776
