  1. Voltaire: [They are not only jealous of their own liberty, but even of that of other nations. The English have doubtless purchased their liberties at a very high price, and waded through seas of blood to drown the idol of arbitrary power.]

    What Voltaire wrote about the small island of Britain will – I am certain – equally apply to the great nation of Ukraine. A nation forged in the fight for liberty and equality is as great as the greatest of empires.

    The Russians fight for mere land – the Ukrainians for freedom.
