We just want to make sure it gets used wisely. The propaganda to get the boomers to spend it all before “younger generations destroy xyz” is strong and it confuses them.
Isn’t this just another very long way of saying trust fund or being a supportive parent?
Boomers are older but not so old they are going to die in the next couple years. They could live another 20 years or more.
There are many types of trusts – the trusts in discussion here are living trusts.
Translation: Old people who voluntarily brought now-also-old people into the world without their consent are finally helping these people in the face of stagflation caused by the old people.
Have you seen the price of assisted living? You almost need to keep a half a million dollars just for that.
Why should I leave anything to my kids. I paid for college and a new car and many bills including rent until graduation. Now it’s time to be an adult.
