My spouse makes that much, but we live in Silicon Valley, which has such a housing shortage that we can only rent (never buy) a small house.
When our previous landlord took back his house for personal use, I had to scramble to find another home for us because the house rental market is brutal right now. Any decent rental, and qualified applicants line up around the block. High credit score and six figure income? Who cares, all the other potential renters have that too!
After equal parts hustle and luck, we eventually snagged a place. But it was difficult. We really thought we might have to live in a hotel for a while.
