French snap elections: ‘Macron camp nowhere to be seen’ • FRANCE 24 English

let’s bring in Mark Perman Mark edar Philip former prime minister saying sometimes you have to see the cliff to know what to do next now it’s notable just a few days ago he was talking about his frustration Emanuel macron calling this and let me quote to you the words of the former president as well who’s standing as a candidate this time Fran Alon saying it is the end of maconis how do you see that well we just saw an illustration of that who did we see speak Jean luk Menon not even talking about emanu mcon saying he’s forgotten Marine Leen Jordan bardel they’re already talking about the second round you’re my enemy this is the enemy maon let’s forget about him and the Very symbol of edar Philip who was his first prime minister they’ve had that differences but it was mainly behind the scenes now going in front of the microphone before the Prime Minister Gabrielle atal and saying okay uh here is what I advise our candidates to do in the second round because there’ll be a lot of horse trading obviously and and I’m ready uh to take up the challenge of rebuilding the right rebuilding the center so it’s there are all essentially erasing Emmanuel macron from the scene let’s not forget that Emmanuel macron is still the president his mandate still runs until 2027 he has already said that he will not uh resign but depending on what will happen in the second round if there is an absolute majority for the national rally and its Ally it’s a big if because the calcul relations are quite complicated they’ll probably put a lot of pressure on Emanuel maon saying you’ve lost the uh European elections you thought you could pull off an upset with the uh legislative elections this is not happening you’re weak president you’re a lame dog why don’t you go out and so there’ll probably be a lot of pressure on him but it’s it’s interesting to see that uh the maon camp is nowhere to be seen in the polls and in the uh talks right after the results are in what has to happen if you’re part of the macron camp tonight knowing that as you say he’s been very well not visible at all on the campaign not part of Gabriel tala prime minister’s promotional campaign video does he need to speak tonight the president he already uh issued a statement immediately after 8:00 P.M say yeah but this means he’s probably not going to speak it was very unusual for him to speak the European elections we now know why because he called those elections but he already said we need to form a broad alliance against against the far right those are the words uh that he he spoke if it’s quoted from a meeting between the head of the majority or that is now becoming a minority obviously we still have to uh figure out uh but obviously we have to really really take the seed projections with a grain of salt a big grain of salt because yes they show a relative or even an absolute majority for the national rally but you heard John luk milon saying those seat projections you shouldn’t really uh take them into consideration I just want to remind our viewers that in 2022 the seed projections for the national rally was they would get 12 20 MPS they ended up with 89 and so it could be the other way around so uh and just the last Point uh there are according to our partner there should Me Maybe up to 300 three-way races this is a record I mean the the highest was 105 in 1997 and so uh by definition if you have three R races in over half of the constituencies it means this is still a wide open race at least in terms of forming an absolute majority Emanuel mcon will not have one it will be very tough for the left but it could also be tough for the far right

French President Emmanuel Macron’s camp, which came in third in the first round of voting in France’s snap elections according to estimates on Sunday is “nowhere to be seen”, FRANCE 24’s politics editor Marc Perelman said, pointing out that both National Rally’s Marine Le Pen and France Unbowed’s Jean-Luc Mélenchon both dismissed Macron in their respective speeches. “They are essentially erasing Emmanuel Macron from the scene,” Perelman said.

  1. Lefties are rioting and looting all over demanding overthrow of the democratic process and staging insurrection. Can't believe this is happening in 2024. Shocking! Jail! Jail!

  2. France isn't becoming Trumpian. They're not rɛtªrds. They just want stronger immigration procedures especially towards religious extremists. Some want their pensions back at 60, but that won't happen without bankrupting the country (just as how Trump Corp is insolvent and dūmbfck poor) lol

  3. Well, this wasn't even close, so you can't blame this one entirely on outside agents provocateurs (even though there are more than a few, no doubt).

  4. Congratulations Macron at long last you lost the election. At long last the French people will be rid of you, as you have abuse your people and that is your reward. Now you must RESIGN….
