[Applause] amid the sound of gunfire a Russian drone flies just above kev’s maidan square at the window of his apartment a civilian fires one of many residents who own and use guns the Drone is shot [Applause] [Music] down this is the man that was firing from his window Alexander is a judge at the administrative tribunal in Kev but just before the war broke out he knew he needed to prepare I called a family meeting and we decided that everyone would learn how to shoot my wife my children and their friends in this situation every Ukrainian needs to know how to use a gun as well as they can use a fork when our team next meets Alexander on the roof of a Kev building he swapped the robe for camouflage and a bulletproof vest for the past few months he’s been volunteering for Ukraine’s territorial defense just like 60 magistrates today he’s working with Andre and S for the next two days and nights they’re here to surveil the capital Skies no sophisticated weapons or Rare Defense systems just an antique Soviet era machine gun sh drone attacks come out through the we track them with spotlights when the Drone Hunters are in action hundreds of Tracer bullets light up the sky and it works today most of the drones targeting the Ukrainian Capital are shot down but with a lack of air defense systems the number of Russian missiles that are intercepted has reduced dramatically down to 46% compared to 73% one year ago
Ukraine says it downed 14 of 20 Russian drones that targeted the port of Odessa overnight. Russia has carried out attacks like this one almost every night, since February 2022. In Kyiv, a group of volunteers have taken it upon themselves to defend the city from such attacks.
