The Yazidi girls were often still teenagers when they were abducted by IS fighters. Stolen from their villages in the mountains of Kurdistan, they were forcibly converted to Islam and sold to terrorists as sex slaves.

The atrocities reached their height in August 2014. Now, years later, survivors are returning home. They are severely traumatized. Will these women be able to make a new start? Theater maker Hussein tries to help them build a new life.

  3. very insightful documentary. Kurds are very brave people who are misunderstood, oppressed and attacked from several neighboring nations especially Turkey, world shows very little to no help nor empathy for these people. God bless them.

  4. Please, also share some information on the abducted Assyrian/Chaldean Christians of Iraq who faced such ordeals.

    My sympathies with these brave Yazidi women.

  7. Women have been soft target and used as war prisoners since medieval era but here the issue with this radical ideology which thinks women as pleasure.
    Indian continent have seen the tragic reality on oppression of women where they were assaulted and sold by Islamic raiders and rapists in medieval history and now exists in name of ISIS…only the faces have changed but that inhumane ideology still lives.
    I would pray for kurds and women alike for their better lives.

  9. What can determine a woman to be a Muslim?
    For men, I understood that they will go to heaven like in the bosom of Muhammad, having countless virgins at their disposal, their obsession with sex with virgins being known.
    What about a Muslim woman all her life being considered as an inferior being meant only to be obedient to the man who is waiting for her in heaven?
    Do those girls really not ask themselves this common sense question?
