Channel 4 have released a new video on YouTube covering unsolved crimes in the UK.
In the video, they set up a bike with tracking devices and capture thieves in the act.
I spotted something weird in the video though that appears to show a different lock on the bike between the first attempts and the final successful attempt.

Do they look different to anyone else? Not that it matters all that much – it still catches these scumbags in the act and highlights this ongoing issue. But it just seems a bit weird to me that they would have to change the lock on the bike.

They probably did it on multiple days and then spliced together all the best footage.
A lot of stuff is replicated for the filming, as they’re often returning to cases months/years later.
Where I worked regularly appears on a channel 5 documentary show.
They often have several different people that they follow, and imply that all these things happen at the same time on the same day, but sometimes there are literally months between them.
For example, one episode followed two different people and you can see in the background that, although they are in the same room, tonnes of building work has been done between one person’s story and the other.
Maybe the first was too hard to break/cut … whatever.
“Look how rife bike theft is!”
Bike doesn’t get stolen, change the lock.

I did get the feeling that it was there longer than they had hoped for as one attempt was said to be made around midnight but then the removal and successful attempt was made around 22.30 if I recall correctly.
The sheer volume of daylight theft from a person did nothing but compound my often irrational fear of being outside but that’s that I guess.
It’s saddening to realise what goes on and how little is/can be done about it.
Channel 4 put some decent stuff on you tube and the Bill Bailey walks are my fav which are a great leveller for all the bad stuff.
