Jones was *everybody’s* cat, not just Ripley’s.
Has anyone else here read the novelization by Alan Dean Foster? At certain moments in the story, he tells it from the point of view of the cat. I do recommend it.

THE HEROIC protagonist from the ALIEN series was Ellen Ripley, a woman who held an orange cat while she fought monsters and Ripley had a daughter who died while she was in extended hypersleep which means that the good guy from ALIENS was literally a childless cat lady and she smoked the acid spittling monsters as many times as she needed to.
It’s close enough.

Hate to break it to ya, but Ripley actually had a daughter but wasn’t able to raise her cuz she had to keep working for an evil corporation(she also fought with the evil corporation for the right to have her daughter in the 1st place cuz they didn’t want her to stop working even for a second). It’s all supplemental canonical material tho so it’s fine that you didn’t know

As amazing as that slogan is, uhm… Technically Ripley had a kid, she just died off-screen between movies 1 and 2 due to old age.
