Starmer said: ‘Under his [Sunak’s] watch, the last parliament was the first in modern history to leave living standards in a worse place than they found them.’ He accused the previous government of focusing on the ‘horse trading of Westminster politics rather than long-term national interest’ adding that Labour will ‘close the door on it forever’.

Rishi Sunak congratulated the prime minister on his election victory, telling MPs that Labour ‘had successfully tapped into the public’s desire for change,’ adding that his party would hold the government to account to ensure it delivers on the commitments it made to voters.

  1. All bluster from Kier. He got battered in the debates and by jove he'll bankrupt the country.

Paying people who can work to do nothing all day is exactly against what the welfare state should be for. It's not wel-fare it's well un-fare

  2. Out of 48 million registered voters only 28 million cast and out of that 19 million did not vote Labour. That's potentially 38 million citizens who do not want the current administration. Looks like a government on quicksand.

  3. Starmer, the millionaire lawyer looks so happy, with his rictus grin, as he contemplates concreting over the greenbelt, safe in the knowledge that Hampstead Heath on his doorstep won't be built on. A typical Labour hypocrite.

  4. Who do you think the UN leaders are still killing terrorists in Myanmar?????
Instead of protecting the people, they are killing back. You accept the Starndard Army's operations, cover the internet, cut off the news, and cut off the internet. Can't the country that is helping that organization also take action????

  5. British Politics after the other side wins : Be respectful, accept election results and corporate with the new goverment.

US Republicans after biden wins : Behave uncivilised, reject election results and try to overthrow the democratically elect president.
