My favourite UK city break destination. Go about twice per year.
Now try to afford to live there š
It’s alright for a visit, but it’s no Leeds. I don’t think I’d want to live there.
Edit: Downvote me all you want but it is expensive and swimming in tourists like me. The worst Leeds has is students and it is easy to live away from them.
Anything you recommend doing in particular? Going for 2 nights in September and never been before
Photos 2/3/4 are weirdly generic for an āI love Yorkā post lol. Expected to see some city sights!
But yes York is wonderful Iāve been many times in my life and will go many more times.
Ah, the Lesser Spotted Volkswagon Up. Good catch!Ā
Omg that one particular goose has amazing legs
I not been to York for a few years, so many more cities, towns I would like to visit in the United Kingdom
I’m a fan of your 1:3 canal to birds ratio
Lucky enough to live in York myself; nothing quite like mooching into town underneath a medieval castle gate (bar) – we even have a permit to park in Henry VIIIās Manor House. The mad old bastard was forward thinking enough tarmac a car park around the back for easy venturing into town for shopping.
Still no luck finding them killers then?
I misread this as New York and thought it looked unusually quaint
York is host to a really good retro games shop as well (sore thumbs) which is absolutely crammed full of interesting stuff. I regret not buying more when I was there last time.
Agreed! I live in Norwich and York is the only UK city Iāve visited which has a similar vibe; Itās got obvious history, is beautiful to look at, the centreās not massively sprawling, thereās a nice cultural buzz and it feels really safe and friendly (from what I experienced anyway).
Just a shit Lincoln
I love york too, try and get there at least once a year.

It’s a shambles
Appalling rule 12 violation.
I approve.
