Happy Sunday! I have a strange request for other cat owners and would be ever grateful for your help.

My cat, Toast, has a favourite toy and refuses to entertain any other. Unfortunately he has chewed it to bits so it has had to go into the bin. He won't even look at other toys and seems very sad to have lost his little green friend.

It was sold in Pets at Home around May 2024 and was called Petstages crunchy pickle kicker. It is about 4 inches long, bright green, and says 'kind of a big dill'. Unfortunately it has been discontinued and they don't have any left in stock.

Toast had an arm amputated in March and is still figuring out how to play as a tripod cat. He doesn't have much confidence in his play but this pickle was a great adversary.

I am reaching out to cat people of the UK and asking does anyone have one of these pickles lying around? I would be more than happy to pay for it and for postage!

Toast thanks you in advance! I have added some photos here of my boy and his green friend.

  1. Might be worth getting in touch directly with petstages if you can to ask them if it is stocked anywhere else?

  2. I’ll happily check my local one, I feel like I’ve seen pickle toys recently

They have it listed on Amazon as well but the delivery time is months long for some reason

  3. Please add this to r/helpmefind.

Specify you’re in the UK, or you’ll be bombarded with the ones available in America

Edit – I forgot to say Toast is cute

  4. I’m going to guess that a huge part of the attraction of this toy is the way it smells, so if you get another one it’s not going to be right

  5. Just seem to be in America from what I can find, even ebay has one but it’s from there so costs around £40.

The description mentions catnip, have you tried other toys with catnip in to see if it’s the toy or that?

  6. I’ve seen the banana online, might that have similar textures for him? If not, there are personal shoppers online who will collect orders in the US and then post them on to you for a lower rate than the shop. If you don’t find any over here, could be worth buying a few to last him a while. Sorry I couldn’t help, toast is adorable. Have you put him on r/catscalledfood ?

  7. I’m ready for the update that you got one and he doesn’t give a shit because it still isn’t his pickle, lol

  8. Never give up. We went through the same thing with our Orange Lumo and his Big Red Mousie (think beefsteak tomato with whiskers and all the other attachments). We found three of them on line somewhere plus we managed to find the one he threw into an abyss in the garage.

  9. Hi, you can order it on the US Amazon site and have it shipped to the UK, takes around a week and costs around £13 in total with shipping.

  10. Aw, we have no pickles here sadly but my tripod girl is equally as fussy, love love loves the Bam! Fish but not the Bam banana 🤷🏼‍♀️. I hope Toast gets his pickle!!

  11. Upvoted for Toast, the pickle must be found!

I know how cats can be with toys, my cat has a stick which is basically her entire world, she’s 16 now and has had it since she was eight weeks old. It used to have a long ribbon on it with feathers, but she ripped those off years ago. She still cuddles up with the stick and carries it around, and takes it to the vet in her carrier as it calms her down, haha.

  12. All cats are different, of course. But my cat had a purple snake as few favourite toy that she’d drag round the house with her, and that too got ragged quickly. We bought a few extras as backups, but when we swapped them out, she refused to touch them. As soon as we brought out the old snake a day later, she grabbed it, and it was business as usual.

  13. I have one! Please let me know if you still want it as my cat is not interested in anything cute and squeaky, unless it’s live mice!

  14. This is like the set up to a video game. Let’s call it Pickles, please! And just try to avoid thinking of ‘Papers, Please!’

  15. If I see one in one of my local pets at homes, I’ll get it for your Toast.
