  1. Couldn’t they have done the triathlon swimming part somewhere else, ya know mabye at the rowing venue?

  2. Any triathlon is a puke fest at the finish line. It’s a brutal way to kill a couple hours lol.

  3. How has this got anything to do with the water quality?
He tortured himself for 8th when he clearly didn’t have the legs for the run

  4. Some of the female athletes commented they don’t really believe the water quality (or current) was actually within the norms. The swim took like 5 minutes longer than is normal *because of the excessive current*. But hey, both were measured to be within limits by the organizers (wink wink).

(But it has nothing to do with that picture)

Edit: Clarified that you swim slower because of currents, not bacteria 🙄 because this seems to confuse some people.

  5. I have heard reporting say that the water quality of the Seine has never been as good since the industrial period, and probably since humans settled there in large numbers, because there is almost no used water discharged into it, and no polluting industry on the river anymore

  6. It’s funny because the water quality is better in the Seine than it was for Rio and Tokyo Olympic Triathlons, but whatever

  7. Cross Country coach would tell us if you didn’t throw up after the race you did not race hard enough

  8. Imagine what 2028 will be like when triathletes wil have to swim in the LA River.

  9. “So, how was the water?”

    “Oh, it was fi… HurUUUUUAAAAAGHAGHUUUUUUH”

  10. Puking means he gave his all. Did that at the end of my PT test in the army and it felt good afterwards.

  11. forget puke bags, atp they should just be stretched out off the carpet, gold medal and all

  12. Was this our lad who’s been drinking E.Coli? (who in the UK *hasn’t* been drinking E.Coli recently)

  13. That’s pretty common at a triathlon finish no matter the water conditions 🙂 I was a triathlete in my 20s.

  14. Dude couldn’t go off the side? Now finishing runners have to run through his puke.

  15. Do we think the clean up is part of the preplanning? Like oh this is the triathlon finish line, let’s make sure and have mops ready to deploy.
