  1. Today I will be meeting some work colleagues for a few refreshing beverages, and keeping as cool as possible. I think a pint of cider will be in order.

  2. Ordered some things for next day delivery on Wednesday, they are still stuck at the Evri depot in Dunstable. Specifically paid extra for next day delivery, so I’ll be making a complaint.

Anyway, went swimming again last night, did well considering I still don’t have goggles (see above complaint). Going again tonight, hopefully my parcel will have arrived by then.

  3. It’s the last day of our holiday today and I’m so ready to go home! We didn’t realise how remote the cottage was, and we’re used to a city. I’m really looking forward to being able to walk and cycle to places again.

Our puppy has really enjoyed himself and has been a very good boy!

  4. After the thunderstorm yesterday, my weather station on the balcony is reporting 90% humidity outside right now. This explains why I’m sat in the kitchen slowly melting.

Today should be a quiet one at work (hopefully). Should give me a chance to filter the fruit oleo I’ve been working on which I’m hoping gets me close to a Vimto flavour cordial (with actual sugar in it).

  5. Summer holidays so I’m losing track of days, thought it was Thursday.

My daughters friend and her parents who have become our friends are coming round for a bbq today. Paddling pool (giant 15 foot monstrosity so takes some set up) is up and bbq has had a scrub with a wire brush, I need to go make the salads in a bit and do a quick tidy, then I suspect the kiddos will be straight in the pool and I’ll be sitting out there supervising. No idea what time the friends are appearing, but they’ll just open the door and come in when they arrive so if we are outside they’ll find us.

  6. It’s been an exhausting (but challenging in a fun way) week of work, I treated myself to a Kobo as a reward for surviving it so my plans for the weekend are to get some posh chill drinks in and read in front of the fan.

Only three days in next week and then I’m on holiday for a fortnight. Convention, then no plans at all – it’s going to be bliiissss.

  7. A little bit of a slower day today. Doing some work, some home improvements, much needed clean after a very busy week, putting washing away. Nothing too interesting but very much needed so I can start the weekend in a clean, nice smelling place.

    Happy Friday!
