This is such an underappreciated example of how little DonOld Trump cares about America.
First off, fucking weirdo! Being that fragile that you just can’t be wrong! The whole thing made him look like a buffoon, which he is.
The problem is it’s extremely dangerous. **He was willing to make millions of people evacuate from a hurricane that wasn’t coming anywhere near them.**
Imagine if he’d been successful, having impoverished, sick, elderly people scramble to get away. Hospitals shut down, transporting critical patients for no fucking reason. Businesses, schools, everything! And all the government resources, FEMA, first responders, diverted from areas that actually needed them.
IIRC, people lost their jobs for saying “no, you had old info, the new info says Alabama won’t be hit.” There’s nothing embarrassing about coming back with updated info, nobody would’ve thought anything bad if he’d just done that. But no, he just couldn’t be wrong, and that was more important than millions of American lives.
Fuck that guy.
In other news, his mishandling of Puerto Rico’s direct hit contributed to a US national shortage of IV bags that lasted for months. A large percentage of them are made in PR. Hospitals and clinics had to scrounge things up, surgeries/procedures were cancelled.
Old school weird, at this point.
