The “and then Greece and the east” part was constructed hundreds of years later.
Somehow italy should find a way, the “The Road Most Travelled” from Morrowind Soundtrack is played all the time, when you are going this road.
Great pics!
For a moment I thought the first photo was one of those where you squint and it reveals the face of Jesus or Che Guevara or whomever.
That aside, I’m surprised the Appian Way wasn’t already a World Heritage Site. Just look at it!
It’s close to my home! Great place to go cycling.
Beautiful. It is a good thing such treasures for Antiquity remain well protected.
Shot of hand moving through wheats in a field
When the sun shines like that, no wonder it looks like something worthy of a UNESCO world site status.
godrays are the best rays
Where was the 3rd Picture taken?
I have walked on those stones. Hope they were more level 2000 years ago.
Stunning pictures, outstanding photography.
nice shots man
Also featured in the Netflix series Ripley. Those black and white shots at night on the Appian road are fabulous
When I was in Rome the first time, I went to walk on the Via Appia. Nobody else did then.
Unreal Engine is getting way too good

Like most of Italian ruins, they look best in photos.
