  1. What I always love about seeing scenes like this around the Steddfod isn’t just that they’re singing, it’s that people are singing the harmonies as well. Proper multi-voice choir, completely impromptu.

  2. Welsh is hilarious.

    “What should we call a video?”

    “Change out the v for an f, it’s close enough to sound Welsh without needing to learn a whole new word”.

    “Say no more”

In Ipswich, a town in Queensland, Australia, there was a large Welsh community as there were a lot of coal mines in the area – many miners from Wales were in the area, resulting in local places such as Ebbw Vale. Growing up there in the 80s and 90s, an annual Eisteddfod was held each year that all the local schools participated in. It was such a huge part of those Welsh settlers’ culture, that they recreated it in Australia. I love to see it x
