Six months ago, I posted here, on r/Edinburgh and r/Manchester, to try and sell train tickets that I wasn't going to use.
At the time, I obviously didn't realise that was against the rules of the sub reddt. I wasn't trying to cause a fuss, just made an error and was trying to save myself some cash/see if anyone could use the tickets.
The moderator(s) of r/Edinburgh are steadfast in their petulant behaviour and I am unable to contribute to the, rather active, sub reddit of my home town.
Don't know what else to do or say, I'm just shocked and disappointed
Cheers

powertrips by reddit jannies arent rare. But its always good to document.
r/Edinburgh rule 7:No advertising
No posts wanting to sell or buy items and no advertising your business.
It’s illegal to re-sell train tickets and it’s against Reddit’s content policy to post requests for illegal transactions and you agreed to that policy when you created your account.
Wales is the same. A whole country run by one curmudgeon
MODS love a little flex on here, most are fucking idiots but hey, they’ve begged their way to a MOD job and by god they will carry out their duties
The mods of this sub are no better
Mods being petulant, imagine that!
Always read the rules, don’t give a mod an excuse to ban you.
Just delete your account and make a new one
I’ve just had a look. The reselling of tickets is against the law. It’s to crack down on fraud etc.
Edit. I’d also argue that it’s not petulant behaviour. They’re covering their asses. Railway companies don’t fuck around with things like this and take legal action over this.

Most internet jannies react like this. Power tripping over the tiny bit of authority they get.
