9. Most of this stuff is being built in the US. The Feds are directly stimulating the economy and providing for local jobs. Additionally we are destroying our mortal enemy without risking a single American life. I think that is a pretty good trade.

We loan billions of dollars in military equipment and then when the war is over they will owe us the ending amount plus interest. 16. Funny tho, the US makes a big deal about China and Iran selling weapons and amunitions to Russia but seems to be perfectly legit when Western countries do the same to Ukraine.

18. USA didn't gave money – Ukraine got arms in this amount.
    Most of the arms was was old. Basically US is renewing it's stocks.
    That sum is based on equivalent of "as new" equipment or equivalent of purchasing modern, new equipment.
    So an item that back then costed $10 would be booked with adjusted inflation rate ($15) or would be booked as it's brand new, modern counterpart.

You mean to tell me you're a 30 something year old human watching this and you don't think "The amount we send to other countries surpasses the amount we collect in taxes… yet taxes haven't gone up… the tax must be indirect… the tax is the devaluing of our nation's currency… omg the price on the shelf isn't going up, it's the value of the currency going down!… If the goverment can fund itself constantly selling $7 for $5, why do they need to collect taxes in general?"

    Obviously the goverment can't and the reality is that we're spending money we dont have and then maxing our credit cards to pay the interest on our loan.

    The vast majority of US aid is just getting rid of surplus and a lot of the money has been spent on replacement modern kit for the US military

22. Just FYI, no your taxes do not pay for costs that NATION pays for. The federal tax collected is actually just "burnt", aka taken out of circulation. Local government uses taxes the pay for stuff, not the actual nation or federal level in USA. How much they can print/use for stuff like this depends on the size of the economy and where one uses it. Print too much AND use it domestically that can increase inflation. Bottom line is, NATO is 16x times the economic might of Russia. We are actually not even breaking a sweat on this, Iraq or Afghanistan. Yes, it ironically also means you could have socialized healthcare for less than current day insurance and so on as well, but that change takes currently too much political willpower that is not there at the moment in USA.

33. Extremely misleading way to phrase this; imagine buying a car for $20,000 in 1998, then giving the car to a friend and saying you gave them $20k in gifts. That's exactly how we "spent more than the first four years in Afghanistan". A ton of the stuff we gave them was going to a scrap heap if we didn't donate it.
