Personally, I like the kid, he is capable of growing into a great player, but that great player is years from now. He moved to Barcelona far too early and cost far too much. Is moving to Saudi Arabia a good idea? Not really since his career is only budding and Saudi Arabia is not competitive enough to grow as a player who wants to compete in the top flight of Europe.

Should he stay at Barca? We might not have a choice in the matter considering his team has rejected all offers. I think Hansi should work to get the best out of him because when Roque is played in his correct position and given minutes he can score goals as he did last season in the brief moments when Xavi gave him minutes.

Sure we have Pau Victor right now who is good back up for Lewandowski but Lewandowski hasn’t been a convincing starter since last season anyhow and having 3 options for the cf position is healthy in my opinion, but only if Hansi makes the starting player fight for the right to play. I believe with a healthier environment and a better mentality Vitor Roque can come to life and become crucial for Barca this season. We just need to figure out the right system to feed him through balls and let him play in his natural position.

If we do sell roque though, than signing Dani olmo would actually become a necessity because he would play as a false 9 and would offer a great strategic option for Hansi if he feels like his strikers aren’t solving problems in certain games. But since we have roque now, we shouldn’t take him for granted and should remain patient.

  1. Based on the 3 minutes that he played, I have to say he is an absolute flop and it is time for him to retire from football.

  2. Honestly I think everyone’s expectations were way too high and he should be given more time

  3. If he can’t convince even the managers to play him, we should get rid of him quickly while we can make some money.

  4. I expect he will have similar career at Barca as Ferran Torres. Fans want to sell him with profit but there will be no buyers. Eventually he will move to a midtable team.

  5. If we gave Ferran 2.5 seasons (and it seems he isn’t leaving) then we should give Roque at least another season

  6. My opinion is y’all are emotional asf, this fanbase has the highest estrogen. Being attached to a player that barely played, didn’t convince two coaches, a goat midfielder and a sextuple winner. I don’t want dead weights in the squad. The academy is pumping diamonds for free, I’d rather bring another lamasia kid than wait for a player that’s clearly below the required level.

  7. Give him a full season and put him as CF if he is not performing then sell. The problem last season is that Xavi prioritizing out-of-form Lewy instead of younger on form player so I’ll give roque more chance this season

  8. We literally don’t know how consistent he is because we didn’t give him enough time. When he was on, he seemed good to me. But that was only a few matches, none of them full-time, and I am not a professional coach or anything, so I really can’t come to a conclusion based off what we – fans – have seen.

  9. You know it really amazes me just how much apathy the fanbase on Reddit has for a player who has faced documented bullying from Xavi and his team for months and suffered immensely over the last 6 months.

You all act as though him not succeeding at Barca is an attempt by him to spite all Barca fans or something, have you all forgotten he’s literally just a kid? Or the fact that he is desperately trying to improve his situation to stay at his dream club at all cost? Would you not do the same in his shoes?

It’s obvious his current form is not at the level of the club as I mentioned in the first couple sentences of my post, but that doesn’t mean we should just toss him out like garbage.

Have some respect, he’s not an ultimate team card you can just quick sell because he’s not scoring every game in the less than 15 minutes he is given.

And supporting a young player isn’t “worshiping” him, it’s recognizing the reality of both the players situation and that of the club. As things stand, Vitor is a barca player and will be so for the next season, he is a player who needs time to grow and deserves to be given the same patient ferran torres was given.

  10. i still don’t understand what they saw in him when they decided to bring him ..he’s got a terrible first touch, terrible balance , and his run with the ball is that of a mid player ..he will never succeed in barca

  11. It is hard to form an opinion based on a couple of minutes he’s got, however the only reports about his quality at our club were coming from people close to the board / people who are specifically tasked to be very vocal about whatever the club wants them to (Olot coach).

I’m sure the number of culers watching brazilian league is very low, additionally it is very difficult to translate those performances to LaLiga directly (unless it’s a Neymar level player).

The only thing I take away from that deal is, despite everyone and their families understanding how populistic current board is and how nothing they promise has any certainty to occur, big chunk of the fanbase got to the hypetrain station seemingly instantly. We get the kid for awful money, considering our club’s situation, only because Gavi got his leg fucked up so we could register the Brazilian. Turns out Xavi and his staff don’t rate him too highly (despite his earlier talk about player’s qualities and potential – again, populistic and manipulative).

Xavi finally gets the boot but the problems strike with twice as much force – the kid looks as shit under Flick as he did before, no financial deal is signed (and we still don’t have any clue if it will be), player’s background acts all mighty how he’s mistreated but he doesn’t want to leave for a club where he might be getting starting XI football.

Circling back to what Your post asks – to me he’s ass, his body language, on-pitch antiques (that unnecessary dumb red he got), trash positioning, no dribbling, throwing hands in the air. I have not seen a single redeeming quality about the guy to give him more chances.

It’s another one of the “Board overpays for a player and SUCCESSFULLY hypes that said player up and the fanbase follows that blindly” scheme. To these days, despite his geniune care and quality, I was expecting him to look way worse, I don’t agree with bringing Raphinha for the money the club did. Once the 25mil clause expired, we should’ve walked away from that deal and looked some other way.

Also, You can’t say he has potential, there is nothing to base that claim on. I would agree with that if he showed in top 6/7 EU leagues the same goal scoring ability he did in Brazil but he didn’t. 70 yo Suarez, suffering, allegedly, from knee problems, looked as good if not better, that Roque in the same league.

This deal, Torres deal, Rapha deal, Fati’s insane contract and now supposed 6 year huge (for a club who supposedly cannot register half the players?) massive deal for a one tournament wonder never fullfilled talent, injury incarnate Olmo only speaks about how the club is run and how little socios or fanbase care OR have anything to say.

  12. If he is smart, specially considering his age, he will leave. He is going to play even less this season.

  13. How can anybody have a positive, let alone a negative opinion about a player who was given no oportunities to prove what he is or isn’t worth??

  14. Should be given a chance to prove himself. Also he needs to work hard because the talent is there.
