I know, let’s some give them a bunch of free shit! What do we have to give them?” The group at that party was made up of a real estate agent, a banker, an apple executive, an engineering professor, a Michelin star chef… and a gastroenterologist.

I’ll just put this out there. In 1996 when Hong Kong got its first gold medal, the medalist, Lee Lai Shan, was promised a great deal of free stuff just like this guy did. However, many of the corporations then backed out or short changed her such as giving her only one free year of stuff when they promised a lifetime.
Basically, it was just a PR move by these companies to put their names out there in the middle of a media fervor. It’ll be interesting to see how much this guy actually gets in the end.
