Over the past two weeks, Snoop Dogg has been seen carrying the Olympic torch, dancing with Team USA gymnasts Simon Biles and Jordan Chiles and dressing up to watch the equestrian events alongside Martha Stewart.

Now it’s been ‘revealed’ what he’s being paid for the presenting gig, after venture capitalist Henry McNamara shared gossip he’d overheard about how much Snoop is supposedly making on social media.

‘Sat next to an NBC exec at dinner,’ he claimed in a post on X.

‘He said Snoop gets paid $500k a day plus expenses to be here promoting Olympics. From Gin and Juice to a few million to be a celebrity at the Olympics – what a world.’

If this information is accurate, Snoop would be earning more than more than $8.5 million for just over two weeks of work.

  1. Good questions: why? Is he that globally recognized? What is the target demographic to his promotion?

Was Kanye unavailable? Surely Diddy could have showed up for the combat sports? I kid.

  2. Lol…why would an nbc exec be casually discussing snoop dogg’s pay?? Lol…def not up to $500k. Are yall that gullible

  3. Unclear in the article – who is paying him? Don’t tell me it’s the french taxpayer or I’ll go crazy.

  4. Probably the only person who has an access to the village and would test positive in drug test.

  5. And he’ll get to do it all again in his home town of LA in 2028…but the price is going up

  6. Everyone who’s questioning this clearly missed his viral commentary with Kevin Hart during the Tokyo Olympics, where they were just in some NBC studio. Not only was he incredibly entertaining, but his commentary, such as on gymnast Jade Carey—who, back in Tokyo, had a heartbreaking vault final but then won gold on the floor the next day—was extremely sensitive and empathetic. It also showed that he had actually watched or done enough research to understand exactly what had happened. I’ve seen professional sports commentators demonstrate far less knowledge or care, and this was just one of the many athletes they commented on during the Tokyo Olympics.

I’m not even American, but I really hope they’ll bring Snoop back in an even more official way for LA28.

  7. “8.5 million dollars for 2 weeks of work”

What “work” is meant here? His work looks better than all my holidays together if you include all his expenses, too.

  8. NBC pays almost $8 billion to air the Olympics.

The fact that they might pay one of their on air contributors a few million isn’t any surprise

  9. Honestly he’s gone all in and allowed himself to be made a fool a good number of times. Clearly a ton of money but at least he’s not phoning it in. He does genuinely seem to be invested in the athletes and cheering them on. Just saying it’d be worse if he were half assing it

  10. Anybody that thought Snoop was doing this for fun doesn’t know much about Snoop.

    Snoop loves money.

  11. Just to put this in perspective, as of now (8/8/2024) these are the awards for all US athletes combined:
    – Gold: 27 x $37,500 = $1,012,500
    – Silver: 35 x$ 22,500 = $787,500
    – Bronze: 33 x $15,000 = $495,000
    – Total = $2,295,000

  12. i love this for him, he is so wildly entertaining. effortlessly hilarious and charismatic. legendary!

i do wish the athletes were better paid though…

  13. I didn’t know I needed an emotional support snoop dog at this years Olympics but here we are

  14. It’s kind of sad, cooler story is him there just enjoying his life watching cool sport

  15. NBC is parading all of their talent at the olympics, SNL, snoop (now on the voice), etc etc…

Not really shocking, when you bid for the olympics, you have to squeeze every single opportunity out of it as a network.

  16. Tbf, Justin Bieber got paid $10 million to do (show up) to a pre-wedding celebration. So this is a discount.

  17. Considering Sha’Carri & Tokyo situation it’s kind of mad how much they’re promoting Snoop Dogg for the Olympics… and to be making that much money. Insane.

  18. I mean, the rights are worth $775 million a year ($1.55 billion / olympic), so is it really surprising that Snoop would make $500k to present it?

  19. i like snoop but also kinda sick of him, him being on the voice and all these fucking commercials…
