Fighting with Ukraine in Kursk region enters third day, Russia says | BBC News

Heavy fighting in Russia’s Kursk region has entered a third day, with efforts “ongoing” to expel Ukrainian forces from the country, Moscow’s defence ministry has said.

At least 1,000 Ukrainian troops, supported by tanks and armoured vehicles, crossed the border on Tuesday, Russia has said.

Some 3,000 people have had to evacuate the region, as ongoing military altercations have killed at least four people, Kursk’s deputy Governor Andrei Belostotsky said.

Ukraine’s military is yet to directly comment on the reports, but President Volodymyr Zelensky said, without referencing the assault: “Everyone can see that the Ukrainian army knows how to surprise [and] achieve results.”

  4. I heard they attack with 1000 ukranians. Prety sure those 1000 won't survive. foolish act to gain PR. war was about to hault for a couple of month due to the presidential election of America. I think saving lives and playing long term role is important to ukraine since they are lack with man power. Almost all the young people passed away. above 40year men are fighting now.

Ввс молчит что украинцы сняли практически все войска с белорусской границы и пошли вабанк бросив разом 10 бригад в попытке захватить атомную станцию в 50км от фронта, или хотя бы выйти на растояние артилерийского выстрела к ней, что бы начав ее обстрел попытаться выторговать хорошие условия мирных переговоров. Это просто агония, мы их всех убьем 😊 И что они будут делать дальше?

  10. No. That is not what russia says. russia, specifically General Gerasimov in the footage they released, said very publicly that the invaders had been completely destroyed and defeated. He said it straight to putin's face in footage that was released to the entire world, with Shoigu sitting at the same table. If it was not true then it is a huge public humiliation for all of them.
