Taylor Swift Vienna concerts cancelled over terror plot | BBC News

Austrian security officials say a 19-year-old arrested on Wednesday was planning to kill “a large crowd of people” in a suicide attack at a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna.

Officials say the teen – who had previously pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group (IS) – confessed that he “intended to carry out an attack using explosives and knives”.

Swift’s three sold-out shows at the Ernst Happel Stadium have been cancelled. More than 195,000 people had been expected to attend.

Local media have also reported that the 19-year-old, the main suspect out of three, had stolen chemicals from his former workplace.

  1. God bless them for cancelling this concert. It would have been a disaster if Taylor had gone through with it. "And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you" (Stone Sour: Through The Glass)

  2. Hang on, the horrible attack in Liverpool was a taylor swift event, the attacker travelled miles to target it. Now this days later, that's quite a coincidence.

  3. Those criminals don't have any relation with islam ,they just make those crimes with name of islam , because in islam we have a verse if you kill one person is like killing all people and if you revive one it is like revive all people, even we don't allowed to kill animals.

  4. Everyone remember when you see (or support) those anti-Israel protests, the same crew did this to Taylor Swift…and that's a blow to the economy as well. When you call for a ceasefire without first calling for the innocent hostages to be released, you're asking for more terrorism. End of story.

  5. Ah yes islam, tha peaceful religion thats growing roots in the uk and embedding into our society. Nobody will stand up against it because the online woke mafia will label you a fascist. Look at tommy Robinson, he's like a national villain. Hated for warning people against the extremists. Dont go to any big concerts people, theyre all targets to these crazy people and you don't want to become a statistic on the news. Does that mean the "terror" has won if we're choosing to not go to a gig for fear of getting blown up or acid attacked? The war has already started, its been raging for years and if you dont think so then you will sucummb to those who have grown up hating you and everything the west stands for. Wake up.
