Was just checking out Esri User Conference last month where Governer Tim Walz was the keynote speaker talking about how powerful ArcGIS was in visualizing data points to be used when enacting Minnesota legislation as well as following up on progress made after laws were passed! The Minnesota state government created a series of these ArcGIS storymaps for others to utilize! Such an amazing way to visualize multiple data points as well as create data-driven solutions!
Video of the keynote, called “Uniting Minnesota | We’re All on the Map”: https://youtu.be/Ni8BrT0-6gM?si=7MRy0eY4yltin2Pt

I’m all for Walz but a lot of these maps don’t really work that well. I’m not really sure what the goal of anything here really is.
Esri is meant for desktop users in government offices it’s not really meant to be a public facing thing.
What was most impressive to me was he *knew* this stuff, he knew what he was talking about. He wasn’t reading off a script or blowing smoke.
I know of GIS, but even as a scientist in an environmental area, I couldn’t speak as knowlegebly as he did.
