A notable rise in the number of russians searching for “Ukrainian anthem” on Google, with the Kursk region leading the way. And also the rising trend of Google queries “Ukrainian language self-study” (+250% popularity) and “learn Ukrainian” (+150–300% rise) in cities near the border with Ukraine.

  1. I hope it’s 4mil+ ethnical Ukrainians who finally started to feel back their roots

  2. It shows that some of the Russian locals are scared the Ukrainians will do revenge attacks on the population.

    Not much more than that.

  3. **Attention: all neighbors of Russia**

Remember that time Russia or the USSR invaded you? Want to reclaim some lost territories?

NOW is your chance! Russia has never been so weak. Bring 100 guys with guns and take a 1000sqkms or more! It’s all yours!

Make them sing YOUR anthem for a change!

  4. They understand. They’ll have to learn a new anthem, vote on a referendum and become Ukrainians. 😂

  5. Wtf russians 😭 like, you gonna get your land back, am sure ! Ukraine will trade it for their own occupied land !

  6. lol this feels like a “Hello fellow Kids” Moment. but instead it’s “Hello Fellow Ukrainians”

  7. Most Russified people in that region are ethnic Ukrainians who had to deliberately hide their identity from the days of Stalin.

  8. While this could be ukranian soldiers in the kursk oblast, I choose to believe it is citizens being prepared for the kursk referendum

  9. The mind boggles will ..Zelensky order the burning of Ruzzain books and make them speak Ukrainian, which is Kursk and Belgrod’s mother tongue.

    Slava Ukraini

  10. What a quasi random turn of events, Russians wanting to become Ukrainian, because Russia sucks. Who would have guessed this happening in 2024

  11. They better learn how to say “I apologize for the hospitals being bombed and the rapes” too.

  12. ha ha ha… i studied a little russian by myself but the past few years i wish i had started with ukrainian. the alphabet and pronunciation are pretty similar, and most ukrainians can understand russian to begin with any way… i should probably learn how to say “please forgive for speaking the language of the invader. please to not take offense. Слава Україні!”

  13. Serfs don’t know any better.

RuSSia is a country full of serfs, bowing down to any czar or ruler.

  14. Damn, this is potentially very telling. The FSB is going to do everything they can to hide this info.
