Erik Ten Hag: “What we can take positive out of our defeat in 2024 Community Shield is that we can compete with Manchester City and we have to take this belief going into the Premier League. We managed to be on an equal level with them.”

I think there’s a lot more positives than negatives to take from the game. We concede very few shots, defensively very solid outside of the first 20 minutes. Casemiro looked fit somehow. And unpopular but I think Rashford looked good
Agains Mancity’s C team…
Would be fortunate to finish 4th…
in a meaningless game against non starters. brilliant.
This was me when my Sunday league side used to only lose 3-1 to a better team in pre-season because they had 6 first team players in Ibiza
I mean United generally show up against City more often than they don’t. Even under Ole. I’d be more concerned about seeing if he’s fixed the consistently getting outplayed by teams fighting for relegation thing.
> We managed to be in an equal level with them
No Rodri, no Foden
Good job Ten Hag 👍
This guy’s media interviews are somehow worse than his team’s onfield performances
To be fair to Ten Hag, I think he’s right. While it could be argued that it wasn’t a full competition match or that teams weren’t full strength, he talks about the belief going into the season. Belief will take a team further.
United under Erik are pretty decent against the big teams, they’ll play like a small team and try nick it on a counter, but they’re poor against anyone but the big 6, where they have to take the game to them
Mate we used to smash city with ole big fucking deal you bald fraud
City being on Uniteds level would be epic. Nice to see them fighting for european spots instead of winning the league again.
We’ve beaten Pep consistently since he got there, and we’ve beaten them in the same way
Was hoping to see better football
Honestly, United played better and deserved to win
United playing underdogs football will not bring them any progression
They played on the counter again like they usually do against any top 10 PL, he has know spend over a half billion in his third season, one should at least expect them to be able to control a football match in a other than resorting to counter attacking tactics.
Great! Now he will have 5+ more seasons
Lol we didn’t have KDB, Foden or Rodri starting…
We have all seen that ManUtd can play one good game, but a whole good season not in a while.
I don’t think the Community Shield is the game to make assessments like that.
This dude’s going right back on sack watch.
Neutral here but I am so sure city had so many more key players not there compared to United
Ten Hag stand-up comedy before the season even starts 😂
Lol
We’ll ignore that they nearly (and arguably should have) lost to Coventry a few months ago…
Edit: So many butthurt Man U fans 😂😂😂
Provided a third of their team are reserves, I guess… And we still lost. When will this nightmare end ffs. I beg he is gone before the end of the season.
INEOS out
He is way beyond delusional
Seriously, I can’t still understand what’s going on with Rashford. How he has gone from bad to worst is shocking.
