The whiplash of going from the formal IOC closing speeches to Snoop Dogg lighting up the beach in LA was everything πŸ˜‚

  1. I’m the kind of person that thinks that fanboying is stupid. But damn do I love SnooooooooooooOoop!

  2. Man, I’ve been smoking weed all day and questioned whether snoop was at the Games or I was just hallucinating.

  3. I remember the 90s when Snoop Doggy Dogg, as he was known then, had a murder charge and appeared on the cover of Newsweek magazine with the caption “when is Rap 2 Violent?”

Now he is this cuddly grandpa who goes on TV cookouts with Martha Stewart.Β

I respect the transformation and kudos to him.

  4. missed opportunity to end up the transmission with a big “SMOKE WEED EVERYDAAAY” but we can’t have everything, can we?

  5. I always hated the censored version of that song, but it’s now somewhat fitting with grandpa snoop singing it.

  6. This wasn’t actually live at the time of the closing ceremonies was it? That whole video confused me if it was pre-filmed or not (obviously the Tom jumping out of a plane was).

  7. Welcome to America. Do not expect us to carry on the class which was displayed in Paris πŸ˜–

  8. When I saw this yesterday, I said “they should have gotten Dr Dre” then like a minute later, Dr Dre shows up.

  9. Didn’t understand the addition of Billie eilish and her melancholy songs to that broadcast.

  10. pretty much every part of the planning of the olympics went off 50% better than I had thought. Great job France, the US has got its work cut out to live up to it. I really hope that they do.

  11. I wonder if the 2028 Olympics will just feature Los Angeles / Burbank / Hollywood? It’s not a bad thing; LA has more than enough cachet to stand on its own.

Here is my thought: have Hollywood build iconic venues, backdrops for many of the events. Like – build a wooden sailing ship replica for Fencing, Sherwood Forest for Equestrian and Archery, OK Corral for shooting, etc.
