Putin vows to ‘kick the enemy out’ as Ukraine pushes into Russian territory | BBC News
At a meeting with security officials earlier, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said that “the defence ministry’s main task is to push, to kick the enemy out of our territory”.
He also said that Ukraine’s motivation for its surprise offensive inside Russia was to improve its negotiating position.
Some 121,000 people have evacuated from Russia’s western Kursk region, officials say, with another 59,000 told to leave.
Ukrainian forces have advanced up to 18 miles (30km) inside Russia – the deepest incursion since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The legitimacy of Putin ruling Russia as everyone knows – is based on power projection. This exercise is now being undermined incrementally the longer Ukrainian soldiers stay on Russian soil. In other words Zelenskiy is forcing Putin hand to deal with this existential threat of Russia. If Putin fails to eject Ukrainian soldiers from Russia – his legitimacy will become untenable and might be fast becoming so. It’s a game of chess. Zelensky might have found a way to potentially checkmate Putin. Like Fischer who had defeated the russian chess grandmaster in the 1970s using psychology outside of the chessboard to unnerve his opponent. Think fisher had boycotted one or two chess games at the start of the series. LOL

Defending a country from Russia will not encourage Putin to use nukes, russia will use nukes to protect t its territory, and the mass evacuation is in the readiness of a nuclear attack.

Not to be a pessimist but this is russias favourite game.they will keep evacuating until the best and brightest of ukraine get to a point and they will start to dissect the supply line. They will probably say that any cruise middle or air support used that far into Russia will be met with a tactical strike and they will try to take the main force alive if they can. This tactic (although abit modernised) has worked for Russia before and they will try to make it work again
