So, what I’m getting from this is that Russian soldiers don’t have access to even the most basic tools. In a normal military, this wouldn’t stop anyone.
This is the lock-picking lawyer and today we’ve got a lock used to prevent soldiers from murdering their commanders…. <removes the electrical tape on the cable, making the lock useless>
It’s like this at stores in Southern states where they sell AR-15s.
I seem to remember a similar initiative being taken at Pearl Harbor in the late fall of 1941. As I recall it didn’t work out very well.

This..rack nor the weapons it’s holding look nothing like what you’d expect from “the second strongest army in the world”. There are literal rag-tag rebel groups somewhere deep in a jungle with much more modern looking setups.
For a frontline unit that’s obviously bad, but for everything else I kinda see the purpose.
Units in the barracks have their arms in the weapons chamber as well so nothing gets “lost”.
It’s a good sign how surprising this whole Kursk incursion/mission/thing was.

It works on the honor system, everyone knows Russians are trustworthy.

Don’t get me wrong, these Russian soldiers were obviously incompetent with low morale and/or willingness to die for their dictator, but this isn’t unusual.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the commander was the only sane person within a horde of alcohol crazed vatniks…
Commander gets killed, the rest of them get killed because they can’t access the weapons either from loyalty or stupidity.
Probably the same “commander” that was recently shot to death by his crew. To quote, “he was riddled with holes.”
The one thing you don’t see is ammo because they don’t have it 🥲 you can have a gun but without ammo you may as well be holding a stick.

Even if there were clamps under the tape, load one of the guns, shoot the lock. Cannot imagine needing more than 30 seconds to arm myself in that room.
Does anyone know if any of these guns could share magazines or share ammo, as they all look so different to me. I feel like I’m looking at the wall in an American Pawn Shop, and that lack of interchangeable ammo would make it more difficult when planning any group assaults.
And good luck if the only key is on the body of the commander somewhere during a firefight. 😂
Biggest risk for these soldiers prior to the invasion, was probably getting shot by their comrades in a drunken brawl…
