  1. I love how every stadium proposal throws in a jungle of greenery and what we get in the end is a concrete & glass monstrosity.

  2. Wonder how long this idea will last for?

For those who are playing catch-up, they were going to have the ceremonies and athletics at a rebuilt Gabba (A cricket oval), however, it order for it to go ahead, they had to build another stadium in a different location to host the events usually held at The Gabba. Neither went ahead after cost blow outs (1 billion to 2.7 billion) and lack of funding for the secondary stadium (would of costed $137 Million).

Following The Gabba rebuild being scrapped, the ceremonies were moved to Lang Park (Rugby Stadium), and athletics shifted to the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, the second which would have meant spending 2 billion dollars on temporary infrastructure and public transport (as it’s 3.1km from the nearest train station).

Now there is this idea of a new 60, 000 seated privately funded stadium.

  3. This doesn’t look anything like Brisbane. At all. Like not even a single pixel looks like any part of Brisbane. I’m a Brisbane native.

  4. Oh they will NEVER get that built in 8 years. I wish they would, but asking Australian tradies to get a job finished in anything less than glacial pace is asking too much.

Also, thats not any part of Brisbane. Pretty weird to mock up a proposal sat absolutely nowhere that exists in the city.
