And my fave photo of this punch is photo 3, from photographer Charles Rippon. The composition of Roche swamped in VHS tape behind the piano is perfect and perfectly arresting!
The whole performance, I feared that the piano would fall. It was beautiful but weird to see.
That’s funny that it actually was VHS tape, I thought it might be but didn’t realize they actually did that.
They must have done some engineering on that piano to get the keys and hammers to work normally in that position. Maybe similar to how an upright piano works.
The more I look at this the more I realize how much of a technical feat it is
