US sends submarine to Middle East as tensions grow | BBC News

The US has sent a guided missile submarine to the Middle East, as tensions grow over Israel-Gaza war.

US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin also said an aircraft carrier which was already heading to the area would sail there more quickly.

The move comes in response to fears of a wider regional conflict, after the recent assassination of senior Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.

Iran has blamed Israel for the assassination of Hamas’s political leader Ismail Haniyeh on their soil, and have vowed to punish it.

Israel has not commented but is widely believed to have been behind it.

  14. Didn’t realised Israel couldn’t defend themselves all alone when they were boasting about they can handle everything themselves. Ordinary Hesbollah rocket they couldn’t intercept all. Iron dome could only intercept one. Israelis are delusional

The powerful must display restrain so that the general public in the conflict zone should not get the punishment for the evident sins of their leaders who even do not know how to unite the members of their own families let alone play their part to unite the whole world of humanity on the principles of merit and compassion apart their role in pushing their communities towards the throes of death and the darkness of destruction.

For all the idiotic comments people need to understand that the United States has the most powerful military in the world and sending these ships to the middle east is used as a deterrent for war. Not to mention, Israel is one of the top 10 most technologically advanced countries in the entire world with an impressive military and numerous technological advancements that have been used in the United States and around the world. Your cell phones for example are a result of research by the motorola branch in Israel, with an American Jew inventing the first cell phone in 1973. And that's just one of the premier inventions along with the pill camera, waze, USB flashdrive, drip irrigation, solar water, the heaters, the pressure bandage to stop bleeding of wounds, desalination of ocean water in the 1960's, the world's smallest DNA computing machine, smartphone dual lens, and even the cherry tomato just to name a few things. Know the facts before you state dumb remarks with no factual or theoretical basis.
