[David Ornstein] EXCL: Sepp van den Berg close to leaving Liverpool in permanent move. Set to achieve £20m+ valuation. Brentford strongly considering 22yo alongside likes of O’Shea / Ahmedhodzic. #BrentfordFC long-term admirers & solid relations with #LFC

  1. so the guy we got from brentford which we got to buy players just sells everybody to berntford

  2. Not a Liverpool fan but that seems like quite a loss I’d heard he was currently Liverpools most promising young defender at a point where they are crying out for young defenders. To be a bit bleak Liverpool better have some solid business soon because they seem to be in a bit of a bubble with the likes of Salah, VVD, Endo, Robertson

  3. At this point Liverpool owners will sell all the players and not even buy new ones to replace them

  4. Must be well confusing for Richard Hughes when people ring up to try and buy our players.

Just puts the phone down with a flabbergasted look on his face “you? You can buy players?”

  5. I’m a bit kinder than most on our sub. But It is getting rather frustrating. Matip gone. Sepp leaving. Gomez potentially leaving. Carvalho gone. We haven’t made a signing in a year. I’m not saying we should go and do a Chelsea, but this isn’t how you compete at the top.

  6. Don’t mind this business. Quansah is the ‘promising young defender’ to keep (can’t have too many!) and that seems like good cash given he is relatively unproven. The worry would be if we lost Joey Gomez and didn’t reinvest. Need at least 4 quality CBs and then a reserve back up (poor old Nat Phillips?).

Like many liverpool fans, the lingering memory of Kabak, Phillips and Williams CB season is a fear!

  7. Owners are cashing out here, maybe this is what Klopp saw coming?

Sell a bunch of players, inflate the cash on account, sell the club for a big profit. Leave them with no contracts for their big players.
