  1. Well done mate! It gets easier from here on in.

And you start to laugh at the folk who say “What did you want to do that for….”

  2. Congratulations- I love reading posts like this.

I’ve recently started having thoughts around going sober – I wouldn’t say I have a drink problem, but I’ve certainly lost a few days to hangovers over the past year and it’s such a waste.

How do you start? How do you keep motivated? How do you handle social situations? Most importantly, was it worth it and do you feel better?

I imagine it’s quite similar to how I felt when I stopped smoking 2 years ago after 20 years; 1 days at a time.

  3. What an achievement! You should be extremely proud of yourself. Hope you keep keeping knocking those years down

  4. Well done you 👍 what is the biggest over arching change you’ve noticed in yourself or surroundings over this year?

  5. Woo! Good on you! No easy feat, and you’ve *smashed* it! You can do this! 😀

  6. Been sober a long time here mate. You won’t regret it.

You will, however, regret starting again. No need to do that, keep your momentum.

  7. I am so proud of you 💕💕 I lost my dad to the bottle in a truly horrific way and it haunts me every day.

I love seeing people in recovery. That first year is the hardest and you’ve gone and smashed it!! Well done ❤️❤️

  8. it’s always so lovely to read posts like this!!!

don’t know if it sounds weird, cuz I’m just an internet stranger… but i’m genuinely very proud of you, love!!!!

    keep it up! <3

  9. Congrats and all, but this kind of thing drains my motivation to stop drinking. I can’t be fucked to still be counting the days a year later. Is it that bad?
