I’m looking forward to the Paralympics. We are sending our largest number of athletes in our history. Last time at Tokyo, our Paralympic team did better than their able-bodied counterparts despite sending around only 55 athletes. Hoping to see more medals this year.
In other news, I was waiting to see Smyth winning his 5th gold in the 100m t13 event, but later learned that he has retired. Looking to see if the person who almost defeated him at Tokyo can upgrade to a gold this year. Also coming back to my country, I am excited to see the athletes taking part in new events. In my knowledge we never had a t11 runner in 1500m ever before. It also seems like we are sending a single judoka to take part in the blind judo event. Waiting to see how it goes.
Thankfully the event will be more freely accessible because of the partnership between the IPC and YouTube. I don’t have to struggle with an inaccessible app to watch this event.
Do you need YouTube premium to watch? I’m pretty jazzed about it as well. I would have watched earlier in life if it was streamable.
I just like watching people at the height of athletic possibilities, and so many parolympians are elite. Impressive as hell.
