Putin facing ‘international embarrassment’ as Russian soldiers captured | Robin Niblett

“There’s a particular raw nerve about conscripts being captured.”

Ukraine incursion and now the capturing of Russian conscripts may lead to negotiations, but the events are internationally “humiliating” for Putin, says Distinguished Fellow at Chatham House Robin Niblett.

  1. Putin was fighting the "Nazis " so now they're " terrorists "?
Funny when it's the Russians that are Nazis and terrorists.
Disgusting how he lies to everyone and they believe his lies.
Now Trump has been doing the same.
It's sad because it works in lonely mostly miserable people.
They've become a cult in America.

  2. Ukraine cannot hold out unless their special military operation can lead to a uprising or internal rebellion, but russians will be quick to fight in their own country and if they repell ukraine from Russia it looks like game over

  3. Repeat after me, Russia is the aggressor, Russia is the aggressor, Russia is the aggressor, yep you got it now so it must be true, all of the worlds leaders have said so, the trouble is the majority truly believe this. The truth being that it was Ukraines military that constantly shelled the Donbas just after the 2014 EuroMaidan killing over 14,000 people including 200 children, this is called aggression or genocide or both, the world has been told a lie and brainwashed the masses. Btw Putin didnā€™t intervene until March 2022.
Mark Twain wrote ā€œIts easy to be fooled than to admit youā€™ve been fooledā€

  4. Hear the convication
    The point of two world's
The place of two equal realities
    Life calls to life
    Biomass to Biomass
    Energy to energy
    To Imortality I summon you
From the confines of this universe
    To our last battlefield.
    Sister's of the sword.

  5. At the age of 70, he orders tens of thousands of beautiful young people to shoot at one another ! Isn't that humiliation enough !?šŸ¤” Strange title for this video, I thought that expression was reserved for humans !!šŸ¤®

  6. Saying "British tanks" could also mean that there exists a declaration made by Britain that Britain is an enemy of Russia, which Britain is not, and so her referring to "British tanks", in this context, could be considered as scaremongering and in fact it is indeed scaremongering in my opinion. She seems to have an agenda. But as the interviewee it is an option to make the point that would counter what seems like scaremongering by saying that there is a case for seeing equipment given to Ukraine as belonging to Ukraine to do with what Ukraine sees fit; just as Putin puts tech procured from The West into his missiles. We are not sanctioning Ukraine.

  7. I donā€™t think Putin cares about ā€œinternational embarrassmentā€

Thatā€™s all this is, what is the long term plan for Ukraine? They canā€™t hold the ground.

  8. I donā€™t think Putinā€™s ever been in control of the ā€˜scale & scopeā€™ (2:03) of the so-called SMO. Not even briefly from day 1.

5-Eyes intelligence, esp. UK/US will probably have worked out from, say, calculations of how much emergency blood was brought to the FEBA (Forward Edge of Battle Area) the intended scope of SMO. (A decent French SF chief was sacked or rather scapegoated by Macron for having failed to pick up key intel like blood supply, with its short shelf-life, arriving at the rear echelons. Blinken, for instance, and so the UK intelligence community, knew the invasionā€™s start time down to the hour.)

The Ukrainian Army ā€“ first under the defensive control of Valerii Zaluzhnyi then under the offensive impetus of Oleksandr Syrskyi ā€“ has turned out to be a particularly hot pie for Putin to stick his fingers into. It now seems that even if Trump wins – and thatā€™s significantly less likely since Bidenā€™s retirement from the race ā€“ Putin will emerge from his hair-brained, criminal adventure utterly ruined politically.

I question the remark of Russian mothers now saying ā€˜weā€™re with you Mr. President but get our boysā€™. Now, if thatā€™s a fair reflection of a Russian response to UAā€™s Kursk offensive then where are the voices of the 100s of 1000s of grieving mothers whoā€™ve lost their sons in the meat grinder.

  9. Why do we project emotions not Putin ? WE say heā€™s embarrassed, HE doesnā€™t behave like an embarrassed person ā€¦ why not observe Putin, listen to him, rather than tell the world what we think putinā€™s thinking šŸ¤”

Maybe thatā€™s what 92% of the worldā€™s population calls ā€œAnglo-Saxon arroganceā€ ā€¦ since Anglo-Saxons make up 7.9% of the worldā€™s population – why tell us what you think the world thinks ?

  10. What is she talking about? Russia hasnĀ“t made any advances to talk of! One village here and one village there. Whats that? Nothing! When it is supposed to be a military superpower, attacing itĀ“s smaller neighbour. Russia is constantly underachieving, at a horrible pace and price in human and material recources. But, the west must keep assisting Ukraine in making this happen. Since that is the only lanuage that russia understands. Russia will eventually run into a wall.

  11. There is a possible 5th reason, that Ukraine wishes to set up a buffer zone to help protect itself against Russian weapons that might have be used in the Kursk region.
