1. Readapting their own language will help them to become in nation building process can become a nation state

2. Schools in Senegal are notorious for their bad English. My nephew, in spite of having done secundary school in Dakar, failed his university studies abroad because of this lack. Knowledge of English opens the gates to education on-line. But where to go with Wolof? A language almost without literature… I certainly helps to buy veggies on the market, of insulting your neighbors, but how is this initiative helping society to advance?

3. Hopefully the don't try to introduce too many localised languages too soon. It might prevent the students/pupils from having opportunities outside their local community.

14. Good to hear. I support my fellow Africans in prioritizing native languages. I agree that education should be done only in local languages, with English being taught in a class like any other foreign language.

15. Google and all the other AI companies need to step up their efforts of translating their services into languages that people speak.

19. Both languages should coexist. French is useful to understand other countries around, or some ethnics that Have another language, and also upon coming to France… it’s always sad to see some migrants that cannot speak French

    The original language is also important to know our identify.

    I originate from Madagascar and only elites can speak French, while other people can only speak Malagasy which is only spoken in Madagascar, it doesn’t broaden the horizon…

23. This is wishful thinking. French might be complemented, but not overtaken. People will still learn French and want to be competent in French. Not doing so would also create social disadvantages. Such is the reality.

34. The wolof language has always been the main language spoken by people in that country..I have to say that it’s possible intégration in schools as a language to be taught and maybe on the internet could be new and interesting
